Customer FAQ

Q 1 .   The card doesn't work. There is a yellow bang on "PCI-to-PCI Bridge" in Device Manage with (Code 10) {Operation Failed} error. What should I do?
Answer:

This issue depends on system/motherboard BIOS.  You are getting this error because your BIOS is likely in native PCIe mode. The way that you can tell that your computer is in native PCIe mode is that one of your ports will be listed as a "PCI standard PCI Express to PCI/PCI-X Bridge" in the Windows Device Manager. Because the card is a PCI card rather than a PCIe, the BIOS is having trouble enumerating the adapter card while your PC is in native PCIe mode.

In order to disable PCIe native mode, try the following steps:

1.      Open the start menu and type cmd in the search box

2.      Right-click on cmd.exe and select Run as administrator

3.      In the command window, type bcdedit /set pciexpress forcedisable

4.      Reboot your computer

If you decide that you want to enable native PCIe mode again, you can reverse this using the command: bcdedit /set pciexpress default
